Details
openVFR Terrain is replacing vector data by still using the FSX default textures. Also additional vector data for roads, rivers, streams, shorelines etc. are added. The result is a much more detailed terrain representation.
In more detail openVFR Terrain will update the following terrain data:
- landuse information (city areas, like forests, vineyard, industrial use, military,...)
- leisure information (like park, golf courses, stadium,...)
- natural information (like wood, marsh, wetland, woods,...)
- railways (different types) - roads (like highways/motorways, living streets, service, tracks, places,... including traffic)
- waterways (river, river banks, stream, drain, canal, basin, lakes,isles....)
- coastlines
New Features for 2011/02, 2010/10 & 2010/12:
Compared to the old version 2010/04 this new openVFR (version 2011/02, 2010/10 & 2010/12) is based on a newer snapshot of Openstreetmap data. It is much more sophisticated in representing city areas. Also isles in rivers and lakes are added. Regarinf rods the traffic was optimized. Furthermore a lot of bugs of the old version are solved (refer below).
- much better representation of city areas
- isles in rivers and lakes optimized
- freeway traffic for roads added (not for Germany)
